Day 1: Fes – Ifrane – Azrou – Midelt – Ziz Valley – Erfoud – Merzouga

Your 5-day Fes to Marrakech desert tour begins after breakfast with your private driver.

Leave Fes and travel south through the beautiful landscapes of the Middle Atlas Mountains.

Your first stop can be Ifrane, a charming mountain town famous for its European-style architecture, clean streets and cool mountain climate.

Continue through the cedar forests around Azrou, where you may have the opportunity to see the local Barbary macaques.

Continue toward Midelt, a mountain town situated between the Middle and High Atlas ranges. Enjoy lunch here before continuing toward southeastern Morocco.

The landscape gradually changes as you approach the desert.
Drive alongside the Ziz River and through the spectacular Ziz Valley, where palm groves contrast with the surrounding rocky landscapes. Stop at a panoramic viewpoint to admire the valley from above.

Continue through Erfoud, known for its fossils, marble and geological heritage.

Finally, arrive in Merzouga, at the edge of the Erg Chebbi Sahara dunes.

Depending on your arrival time, you can relax at your hotel or enjoy your first views of the desert.

Day 2: Merzouga – Erg Chebbi Sahara Desert Experience

Today is dedicated to discovering the Sahara Desert around Merzouga.

After breakfast, you can explore the surrounding desert area and experience the unique landscapes and culture of the region.

Depending on the season and your interests, the route can include visits to local villages and desert communities.

In the afternoon, return toward the Erg Chebbi dunes for one of the highlights of the tour: your camel trek across the Sahara.

Ride your camel into the golden dunes while watching the desert landscape change with the setting sun.
Arrive at your Sahara desert camp, where you can enjoy:

Moroccan mint tea
Traditional Moroccan dinner
Sunset over the dunes
Berber music
Campfire atmosphere
Stargazing
Overnight stay in a desert tent

For travelers who prefer not to ride camels, a 4x4 transfer to the camp can be arranged.

Day 3: Merzouga – Rissani – Erfoud – Todra Gorge

Wake early to experience the spectacular sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes.

After breakfast, return from the desert camp by camel or 4x4.

Leave Merzouga and travel toward Rissani, an important historic town in the Tafilalet region.

If the local market is operating and your schedule allows, you can explore the traditional souk, where locals trade food, spices, clothing, livestock and other products.

Continue to Erfoud, where you can visit a fossil workshop and learn about the area's rich geological history.

From Erfoud, travel toward the dramatic landscapes of the eastern High Atlas.

Arrive at Todra Gorge, one of Morocco's most spectacular natural attractions.
The enormous limestone cliffs rise dramatically on both sides of the gorge, creating an impressive setting for walking and photography.

Take a short walk through the gorge before continuing to your accommodation.

Day 4: Todra Gorge – Dades Valley – Road of 1000 Kasbahs – Rose Valley – Skoura – Ouarzazate

After breakfast, continue your journey through southern Morocco.

Travel along the famous Road of 1000 Kasbahs, a scenic route characterized by traditional fortified villages, kasbahs, palm groves and dramatic mountain scenery.

Continue through the Dades Valley, known for its spectacular landscapes and traditional Berber communities.

Depending on road and weather conditions, your driver can take you to scenic viewpoints and less-traveled areas of the valley.

You may also visit a traditional Berber family to learn more about rural life in southern Morocco.

Continue toward the Rose Valley, particularly beautiful during the flowering season.

The journey then continues to Skoura, famous for its large palm oasis and historic kasbahs.
Continue to Ouarzazate, often known as the gateway to the Sahara and one of Morocco's most famous film locations.

Enjoy dinner and spend the night in Ouarzazate.

Day 5: Ouarzazate – Ait Ben Haddou – Telouet – High Atlas – Marrakech

After breakfast, begin your final day toward Marrakech.

Start with a visit to Kasbah Taourirt in Ouarzazate, one of the city's most important historical monuments.

Then continue to Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco's most famous fortified villages and a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Explore its traditional earthen architecture and walk through the narrow streets of the historic ksar.

Ait Ben Haddou has also served as a filming location for numerous international film and television productions.

Continue toward Telouet, a traditional High Atlas village associated with the powerful Glaoui family.
Depending on the condition and accessibility of the route, visit the historic Kasbah of Telouet.

Enjoy lunch in the area before continuing across the High Atlas Mountains.
