Meet Hamid – Your Local Morocco Travel Expert
My name is Hamid, a certified nature guide and passionate Moroccan travel expert.
Born into a Berber nomadic family in the heart of the Sahara Desert, I grew up surrounded by sand dunes, camels and the extraordinary landscapes of southern Morocco.
Today, I use that unique experience to help travelers discover the Morocco I know and love — from the vast Sahara Desert and Atlas Mountains to ancient kasbahs, palm-filled oases and authentic villages.

My story
My Story Begins in
the Sahara
Long before I became a professional guide, Morocco was simply home.
I was born into a Berber nomadic family in the Sahara Desert, where life was closely connected to nature, the desert and traditional ways of living.
My childhood was surrounded by golden sand dunes, camels, desert landscapes and the rhythms of nomadic life. These experiences gave me a deep appreciation for the natural environment and introduced me from an early age to the traditions and values of Amazigh culture.
Growing up in this environment also taught me something that remains at the heart of my work today: Moroccan hospitality is about making people feel welcome, sharing what you have and treating guests like friends.
The Sahara is not simply a destination for me. It is part of my story.

My connection with Morocco naturally led me toward a career in guiding travelers.
For over 13 years, I have had the privilege of showing visitors the landscapes, culture and traditions of Morocco.
My journeys have taken me across the country’s diverse regions, from the Sahara Desert and Atlas Mountains to ancient kasbahs, palm oases, traditional villages and historic routes.
In 2017, I earned my official certification as a Nature Guide, strengthening my professional knowledge and allowing me to combine my personal experience of Morocco with formal guiding expertise.
Every journey has taught me something new, and every traveler has given me another reason to appreciate the country I call home.

My Connection to Amazigh Culture
Being raised in a Berber, or Amazigh, family has deeply influenced the way I see Morocco and the way I share it with travelers.
Amazigh culture is an important part of Morocco’s history and identity, with rich traditions of hospitality, music, storytelling, craftsmanship and connection to the land.
During our journeys, I love giving travelers opportunities to experience these traditions naturally — whether through local encounters, traditional food, desert music, village visits or conversations with people who call these landscapes home.
For me, authentic travel is not simply about visiting a place. It is about understanding and respecting the people and culture behind it.

Its vast dunes, remote landscapes and peaceful atmosphere represent the Sahara that I grew up knowing.
Through our Erg Chigaga desert tours, I want travelers to experience this extraordinary part of Morocco in a meaningful way — not simply arriving, taking a few photographs and leaving, but taking the time to appreciate the landscape, desert traditions and people who have lived here for generations.
