Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate

  • Your 10-day Morocco tour from Marrakech begins in the morning with a departure from your hotel or riad.
  • Leave Marrakech behind and begin the spectacular journey across the High Atlas Mountains. The road climbs towards the famous Tizi n'Tichka Pass, reaching approximately 2,260 metres above sea level. Along the way, enjoy panoramic mountain scenery, traditional Amazigh villages and numerous opportunities for photographs.
  • Continue south towards the historic fortified village of Ait Ben Haddou, one of Morocco's most famous kasbahs and a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Explore its narrow passages, traditional earthen buildings and impressive viewpoints over the surrounding landscape.
  • After the visit, continue to Ouarzazate, often known as the Gateway to the Sahara and one of southern Morocco's most important cinematic locations.

Day 4: Merzouga – Rissani – Alnif – Agdz – Zagora

  • Wake early to experience the spectacular Sahara sunrise over the Erg Chebbi dunes.
  • After breakfast, leave Merzouga and travel towards Rissani, one of the historic trading towns of southeastern Morocco. Continue through the desert landscapes towards Alnif before reaching the Anti-Atlas region.
  • The route continues to Agdz, located at the entrance to the magnificent Draa Valley.

Day 5: Zagora – Tamgroute – M'Hamid – Erg Chegaga

  • Visit Tamgroute, a historic village famous for its traditional green pottery and religious heritage. Depending on opening times, visit the traditional pottery workshops and explore the area's historic cultural sites.
  • Continue towards M'Hamid El Ghizlane, the last major oasis settlement before the vast Sahara.
  • From M'Hamid, leave the paved road and continue by 4x4 across the desert towards Erg Chegaga.
