Day 1: Marrakech – High Atlas Mountains – Ait Ben Haddou – Ouarzazate – Agdz

  • Depart Marrakech in the morning and cross the spectacular High Atlas Mountains via the Tizi n'Tichka Pass at approximately 2,260 metres. Enjoy panoramic views of mountain valleys and traditional Amazigh villages before reaching Ait Ben Haddou.
  • Explore this famous UNESCO-listed ksar and its historic mud-brick architecture, then continue through Ouarzazate, the Gateway to the Desert. Continue south towards Agdz and the Draa Valley, surrounded by palm groves and traditional kasbahs.

Day 2: Agdz – Draa Valley – Tamgroute – M'Hamid – Erg Chegaga

  • After breakfast, continue through the scenic Draa Valley towards Tamgroute, famous for its traditional green pottery and historic Quranic Library.
  • Continue to M'Hamid El Ghizlane, the gateway to the Sahara. Here, leave the paved road and travel by 4x4 across the desert towards the spectacular Erg Chegaga dunes.
  • After arriving at camp, enjoy mint tea before taking a camel trek across the dunes at sunset. In the evening, enjoy traditional Moroccan dinner, Berber music and a campfire beneath the stars.

Day 3: Explore Erg Chegaga Desert

  • Wake early to watch the sunrise over the Erg Chegaga dunes, followed by breakfast at camp. Spend the day discovering the surrounding Sahara with a 4x4 excursion through the dunes and remote desert landscapes.
  • Visit a local nomadic family, enjoy Moroccan mint tea and learn about their traditional way of life. Return to camp for lunch, then enjoy free time for walking, relaxing or sandboarding.
  • End the day with another spectacular desert sunset, followed by dinner, Berber music and stargazing around the campfire.

Day 3: Erg Chegaga – Lake Iriki – Foum Zguid – Taznakht – Marrakech

  • Wake up early to experience one of the highlights of your Marrakech to Erg Chegaga desert tour: sunrise over the Sahara dunes.
  • After breakfast at the camp, leave Erg Chegaga by 4x4 and begin your journey across the remote desert landscapes.
  • Cross the spectacular area around Lake Iriki, a vast dry lakebed offering wide-open desert scenery and excellent photography opportunities.
  • Continue to Foum Zguid, where the paved road begins again.
  • From Foum Zguid, travel towards Taznakht, a town famous for its traditional Amazigh carpets and weaving traditions.
  • Depending on timing, stop for lunch and visit a traditional carpet cooperative.
  • Continue towards Marrakech through the High Atlas Mountains.
  • Enjoy scenic stops along the route for photographs and refreshments.
  • Arrive in Marrakech in the late afternoon or early evening.
